Inventory: Consumable vs Reusable
In Sho-Soft, inventory items can be classified as either Consumable or Reusable. This distinction helps you manage resources accurately and track availability for events.
Consumable Items
-
Definition: Items that are used up and cannot be reused once consumed.
-
Examples: Food, beverages, paper products, candles, promotional materials.
-
Tracking in Sho-Soft: Quantity decreases each time the item is allocated to an event.
Reusable Items
-
Definition: Items that can be used multiple times across different events.
-
Examples: Chairs, tables, projectors, sound systems, linens.
-
Tracking in Sho-Soft: Quantity remains constant unless damaged or removed from inventory.
Why This Matters
-
Helps avoid shortages by tracking consumables accurately.
-
Ensures reusable items are scheduled without double-booking.
-
Improves budgeting by differentiating one-time vs. repeat costs.
Note:
-
Consumable = one-time use (gone after the event).
-
Reusable = multiple-use (comes back after the event).
